2004 Student of the Year

The awards are presented for commitment and attitude to training, team spirit and competition performance.

Junior & Overall Student of the Year:
Kate Bishop
For the second year running Kate Bishop was named The Combat Academy overall student of the year. A dedicated martial artist, the Bishops of Hereford Bluecoat School pupil, has enjoyed success up to National level in a variety of fighting arts including Karate (semi-contact,light-continuous & freeform), Ju-Jutsu Kumite and Ground-fighting. In September 2004 Kate achieved her Orange Belt.

Kate was crowned champion in both the Mixed Martial Arts and Karate Grand-prixs, competing in a total of seven events covering five differnet martial arts disciplines. Highlight of the year for Kate came when she retained her national title in Ju-Jutsu Kumite


Senior Student of the Year: Bram Roberts

Bram also received the Senior student of the year for the second year running. A regular competitor Ju Jutsu Kumite, Karate, Groundfighting and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu events Bram constaantly shows spirit and determination.

In September 2004 Bram achieved his Green Belt making him the highest senior grade in the Academy.

Bram is one of the Academies most regular trainers, he always works hard and is a worthy recipient of the senior student of the year award.
