The awards are presented for commitment and attitude to training, and competition performance.

Overall Student of the Year: Dave Cooter


















Dave started Ju-Jutsu in February of this year. A gold medallist in both the Novice and invitational Ju-Jutsu competitions, he also competed in the NJJKC Midlands championships. Highlight of the year was a silver medal in the NJJKC National championships. Additionally Dave has recently gained his Judo blue belt and has taken medals in several Judo events.
A very worthy recipient of the student of the year award.

Junior Student of the Year: Cathy Booton

Cathy started Ju-Jutsu in February of this year. In her first tournament she collected the bronze medal in the novice Ju-Jutsu competition. In the invitational Ju-Jutsu event she defeated 3 out of 3 opponents to take the gold medal.

In June Cathy achieved her Red Belt and looks on course to complete her Yellow belt in the very near future.

She also recently took a very hard earned bronze medal in the
HCKC invitational semi-contact karate championships.

Cathy is one of the Academies most regular trainers, she always works hard, sets a good example to the lower grades and is a worthy recipient of the junior student of the year award.
