NJJKC Midlands Championships: June 9 2002
Combat Academy Gold medallists:
Simon Small, Nathan Turner & Dave Coles
Competing in the +95 kg category, Simon Small defeated all of his opponents without having a single point scored against him. This was a remarkable performance as only two months ago he had dislocated his shoulder whilst competing in the Welsh Closed judo championships.
Competing in the under 18 category, 14 year old
Nathan Turner was looking to improve on the silver
medal he had collected in the Southern
championships. Nathan put in a very impressive
performance scoring with a variety of techniques
on his way to the gold medal.
