Junior and senior members of the Combat Academy attended a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar with Black Belt World Champion Braulio Estima.
For the technique part of the seminar Braulio covered several aspects of the spider guard including sweeps and submission set ups. The position was then pressure tested with specific training starting from the spider guard position. With several of the Academy fighting at Seni next weekend, Braulio covered some of the rules and scoring of BJJ. Finally it was time for open sparring and nearly all students had the opportunity to spar with Braulio.
At the end of the seminar the following belt promotions were awarded:
2 stripe White Belt Andy Blanchard, Dean Bradbury and Nick Hughes.

4 stripe White Belt Chris Konieczny
1 stripe Blue Belt Emma Baker and Pat Baker
